Practical Agile Management
We’re aware that too often Business is not involved in Agile beyond the initial decision to adopt it. But excluding managers and executives from the change process may lead to Agile being implemented only in part, not across the entire organisation. Managing Agile seeks to change that by giving Business an equal chance to be a part this exciting process.
Managing Agile publishes practical, how-to-do-it white papers, articles, blogs, and books on Agile management and leadership, using Scrum as an Agile example. It also offers practical information about how to visualise product variations suitable for those who may be looking to expand into other markets, like ‘bottom of the pyramid’ markets for example.
Charl Dreyer, a co-founder of Managing Agile, is an independent software product development executive. He was the senior executive in charge of product development at a 300+ strong South African software development house, from 2000-2008. Previously he was the Financial Director of a Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed company. See his LinkedIn profile here, and his Google profile here.
He’s had extensive experience in productising and commercialising desktop and web-based applications. Charl is authoring a book called Managing Agile: The Thinking Manager’s Practical Response to the Agile Manifesto, which aims to address the expectations of agile practitioners and traditional managers in order to get things done well, quickly and inexpensively. In addition he mentors Product Owners in their key (and tricky) role of balancing the product interests of customers, users, stakeholders, and developers.
